Technological Innovations and Films by 2045
Technological innovations over the last twenty years have changed a lot of things in terms of the way we Americans live. Some innovations are already making an effect when it comes to new ideas and plots for movies. Films of this sort include Unfriended, a horror film involving social media platforms and video calling, Her, a film about a man falling in love with a computer operating system, and I, Robot, a film about helpful robots that lead to a threat to humanity. But these innovations not only affect the plots for movies but also how they are made and how we watch them. Korea already has a leg up on us when it comes to the innovation of 4D films. 3D movie watching has rapidly become very popular not just in movie theatres but also in your own home. With 3D capabilities, viewers are able to be fully encompassed in the movie through various depth perception techniques employed by both the filmmakers and the 3D capable screen. However, with our technology today we will be able to fully transition into 4D movie watching by 2045. 4D movie watching allows for actual physical effects to supplement the movies such as smells, moving winds, water for raindrops and misting, and also seats that interact through motion. Consumers always want more, more, and more for their money and I think 4D movie watching is definitely in the works to become our future.
